“Where do I begin?! First off, Let me say that Abbie and her team by-far blew away any expectations I had. I used OKOTA for day-of-coordination and photography services. Day-of coordination: Like most brides that are looking to have their dream wedding but stay within a budget, you end up doing most things yourself. For some things I was willing to say “hey, we don’t need that” or “I can totally do this myself”, and there were some things that I was not able to do without OKOTA. The day-of-coordination was a complete must from my husband and mine concern, although we had plenty of people who were willing to help us with that. But to us, our wishes were that our close friends and family were able to enjoy the day with us and not miss the day being stressed with all the work that entails with a wedding production. This is the best decision I made for my wedding. However, I was so lucky that I picked OKOTA for my wedding services. Abbie and Nikki (who was my day-of-coordinator) were highly professional and personal. With emotions and anxieties running high during the morning of the wedding, I felt at ease and like Abbie and Nikki had things under complete control. And this feeling was very much true because not ONE THING WENT WRONG. So many people came up to us saying that it was the best wedding they’ve ever went to! Everything was completely beautiful and flowed because of OKOTA. OKOTA did our floral arrangements the day-of and it was completely beautiful! When I think about the wedding I just have nothing but good things to think of and how lucky I was to have great wedding professionals! My husband and I had the vision but OKOTA made it come to life. Photography: Abbie is a genius. The photos she did for us were so amazing! I cannot even say enough good things about her. My husband and I are quite shy and not the “cutesy” type of couple, so taking photos where we would have to get close and affectionate made us a bit nervous. However, with Abbie, all that went away! We were able to feel very comfortable around Abbie and the photos came out wonderful. We were able to take a engagement session at her studio and it was so nice! It had such a beautiful setting with natural light. The wedding photos were completely incredible. I cannot believe the photos she captured and how she were able to get such great photos. “Wanting to embark upon the wedding planning process as a couple, but desiring the peace of mind a wedding day-of coordinator provides, my now husband (Kenneth) and I began the journey of selecting the perfect day-of coordinator last winter. We reached out to a number of service providers and were disappointed in our findings, in relation to cost, service packages and personalities. When we discovered Okota we were impressed by the beautiful website and clarity of service offerings. December of 2014 after a series of pleasant and informative email exchanges and phone calls, Kenneth and I met with Abbie at our local Starbucks.
Abbie prompted us with questions regarding the type of wedding we desired and our expectations from a day-of coordinator. Kenneth and I truly felt as if we were sharing amiable conversation regarding our future over coffee with a friend. We were impressed by Abbie’s organizational skills, professionalism, creativity and personality. Abbie provided us with a beautifully designed folder, containing documents detailing Okota’s wedding day-of coordination services and an adorable turtle figurine. It was helpful for us to have detailed documents to reference as we contemplated our day-of coordinator search. Abbie’s attention to detail blew us away!
The decision was easy; Kenneth and I promptly booked Okota as our wedding day-of coordination provider shortly after meeting with Abbie. During the months leading up to our June 6, 2015 nuptials, Kenneth and I corresponded with Abbie regarding the various stages of wedding develops. Abbie attended our “tie-down” meeting at the Hilton Netherland Plaza (our ceremony and reception venue) the week before our nuptials. Abbie asked questions and communicated with the Hilton team to make sure our special day would go off without a hitch (pun intended). After meeting with the Hilton team and reviewing the logistics of our day, Abbie, Kenneth and I ventured downstairs to the Continental Ballroom (our ceremony and reception site). Abbie told Kenneth and I that she was on our team and would be our voice to make sure this important day in our lives proceeds the way we desire. This comment meant a great deal to Kenneth and I. We truly believe Abbie upheld this statement.
While visiting our venue site, after our “tie-down” meeting, Abbie presented Kenneth and I with a spectacular wedding gift. The gift was customized and thoughtful, we will cherish it forever.
The day before our June 6th nuptials Abbie attended our rehearsal. She led our bridal party, readers, officiant and parents thought the ceremony with poise and proficiency. It was wonderful having Abbie present to practice the ceremonial aspect of our wedding.
The day our wedding Abbie floated around the Hilton Netherland Plaza, attending to the needs of everyone involved in our special day. She coordinated with our officiant, florist, ceremony musicians, DJ, photographer, hair and makeup team, baker, Hilton contacts and more. Abbie maintained professional decorum and cheerfulness throughout the day. She was confident and precise. Abbie handled tipping staff and various vendors, distributing parking vouchers, pinning boutonnières on our groomsmen, just to name a few items. She arranged our various décor items, as specified and made sure our vision came to life.
The list could go on for pages detailing the tasks Abbie managed with grace the day of our wedding. From wedding gown bustling guru, to stagehand, to event designer, Abbie wears many hats! She carefully packed our personal possessions used as reception décor, made sure our gifts made it to the appropriate destination and even mailed us a wedding card (after the wedding) that one of our guests had left behind.
Kenneth and I could not have pulled off the day without Abbie. We are so happy that we found Okota! I highly recommend Okota for wedding day-of coordination and more. Abbie is a kind, professional, creative and highly organized individual that will pour her heart and soul into our special day. Kenneth and I truly felt that Abbie was personally invested in our wedding and happiness.
